Shot of blue box with silver ribbon, hands unwrapping[d]

Against a white background, a box appears to float. It is wrapped in layers: sky-blue ribboned in silver satin, a pass-the-parcel of newspaper, bubble wrap, a coat of pink feathers. Hands unwrap the layers. As each is shed, it dissolves to the next, until the bare box remains. Hands tip it towards us and at last we will see what is inside#133;

Rapture was commissioned for Above and Beyond, an international disability arts showcase festival held in the south-west of England in September 2003. The film is a haiku revealing the mystery, exuberance, discovery and surprise that is disability arts. It was screened throughout the festival as an installation in The Rapture Room, the festival's chill-out zone.
